Mat Pilates is one of the fastest-growing class formats in the U.S., and The Foundry has been proudly offering Pilates programming since 2017—refined through years of experience, community feedback, and proven results.

This immersive training is designed for aspiring teachers and dedicated students who want to deepen their understanding of Pilates fundamentals, build strength from the inside out, and learn how to lead intelligent, effective classes. With guidance from senior faculty and special guest instructors, you’ll gain the tools, confidence, and teaching skills needed to deliver safe, empowering Pilates experiences.

Pilates is also an incredible place to begin if you’re looking to become a fitness teacher. The strength, control, alignment, and movement principles you’ll learn here create the foundation for other class formats like HIIT & Barre, making this training a powerful first step in your fitness teaching journey.

The foundations and principles of Mat Pilates, including core-based movement and control

How to teach Pilates with precision, confidence, and clarity

*Self-study hours (ie. memorizing the dialogue & practice teaching) are not included and will be necessary to complete the course. Please plan to dedicate time both before & during training for self-study hours. This is an imperative aspect to finishing this course. This is a full, robust, complete & dynamic teacher training course. Before applying, please look over the dates & times to be sure you can commit.

Accredited Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification

The Foundry is a registered Yoga Alliance yoga school helping people expand their yoga practice through accredited teacher training programs. Upon completion of this 3-month, 200-hour immersion, you will receive a RYT 200-HR certificate through Yoga Alliance and be fully certified and ready to teach 26&2 Hot Yoga classes.

*All in-person training dates are mandatory for program completion. Housing is not provided for any of the training. For Zoom sessions, up to three absences are allowed. Any additional absences may require make-up training at an additional cost. All session times are listed in Arizona Time.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Available for all in-person dates
  • 6 months of consistent practice in the modality you are training in
  • Minimum of 20 classes at The Foundry or an approved studio in your chosen modality

Completing our Teacher Training is a transformative experience, but it does not guarantee a teaching position at The Foundry. While we primarily hire from our training programs, all teaching opportunities are based on auditions, availability, and studio needs.

For those interested in opening a Foundry Franchise, completing a 200-hour Foundry Teacher Training is a required first step. Teacher Training serves as an excellent foundation for future studio owners, providing the knowledge and experience essential for leading a successful Foundry community.

JULIE VALENZUELA

PILATES, HIIT & BARRE LEAD TEACHER

Julie is an experienced and energetic health and wellness professional. Having been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for over twenty years, Julie's versatile background is what makes her a well-rounded instructor. Since obtaining her bachelor's in Exercise Physiology from the University of San Francisco and her Master's in Exercise in Wellness from Arizona State University, Julie has had the opportunity to bring her expertise to various fields of health and wellness including rehabilitation and physical therapy, fitness club management, and wellness program coordinating. She continues to inspire others to meet their professional fitness and wellness endeavors as an adjunct faculty for Paradise Community College, University of Phoenix, and Bryan University. While diverse in her own education, Julie's passion is with Pilates and the principles that Joseph Pilates created. "Physical Fitness is the first requisite of happiness" is the opening statement in Pilates' writings on Contrology. Julie believes that a fit body contributes to a sound mind. Being able to perform movement with intention while improving one's own strength and flexibility is at the core of each workout. Julie is committed to optimizing all clients to the best of their abilities through Pilates, HIIT, and Barre!

PILATES MENTOR & HIIT FACULTY

Jess was born and raised in Peoria, Arizona. She started dance as a hobby at 8 years old but it turned into a passion for movement of the human body. She earned a dance degree while going to school in Sydney, Australia and an Exercise Science degree from Scottsdale Community College. She was Pilates Certified through Remedy Sports Center at Remedy Pilates in 2015. “I love training all walks of life, from the stay at home mom, to the 75 year old grandfather, to the professional athlete. Pilates is my passion!”
