Life has a way of bringing us back to where we began.
Sometimes, the universe gently weaves the pieces of our story together and reminds us that we are exactly where we are meant to be. When I look back on my yoga journey, that truth feels undeniable.
In the winter of 2008, an acquaintance encouraged me to try hot yoga. She believed the practice could help me in ways I hadn’t yet imagined, so I decided to give it a chance. I walked into a small studio, unsure of what to expect, and was welcomed with warmth and kindness. I was offered a free week of classes and told, with confidence, that yoga would change my life.
I was skeptical. The heat seemed intense, the class long, and I wasn’t sure I could do it.
But that first class changed everything.
It was challenging, yes—but also unforgettable. I fell in love with the heat, the calming voice of the instructor, and the steady 90-minute rhythm that gave my body time to open and my mind space to settle. I left feeling stronger, clearer, and more alive than I had in a long time.
Over the years, the studio changed hands more than once, each transition shaped by the same difficult reality: rising rent. Each time, I had to adjust, let go, and find a new place to practice. Eventually, I found my way to The Foundry.
From the start, The Foundry felt like home.
The owners built something truly special—more than a studio, it was a community. Their classes deepened my love for hot yoga, and the space evolved to include additional offerings such as Barre, HIIT, Hot Pilates, and Hot Flow. Even though the studios were farther from home than I would have liked, I kept showing up because what I found there was worth every drive.
Then came a moment I never expected.
The Foundry announced a new studio in Scottsdale—and it turned out to be the very same space where my journey had begun in 2008.
When I walked into that studio again, I was flooded with memories. The layout had changed, but the feeling was the same: love, dedication, and the quiet power of a place where people come to heal and grow.
Life truly comes full circle.
I feel deeply grateful to be part of The Foundry community, and to witness this space renewed—ready to inspire a new generation of yogis, just as it once inspired me.
Namaste.
